SunTrust Bank (now Truist Bank) has agreed to pay $240 million to resolve allegations that the bank charged overdraft fees on ATM and debit card transactions that were illegal under Georgia law. Eligible Georgia citizens who incurred these fees between 2006 and 2014 and meet specific residency requirements may be entitled to a cash payment from the settlement fund.
Final amounts to be awarded to each claim will be determined by an expert, according to the Distribution Plan, calculating a proportional share. However, the minimum award will be $5.
